Garden Party - Saturday 6 June 2009

It rained all Friday night and it tried hard again with dark skies on Saturday morning but by the early afternoon, as Joan Bottomley opened this year's Garden Party, the clouds lifted and the sun came out.  The Town Band was in place playing a wide selection of music and well over 100 people streamed into the hospital grounds to enjoy the sunshine and cream teas.  The takings on the day amounted to an excellent total of £1,154.95, to which there will be added some late donations and expenses taken off.  The Committee are very grateful to all those who came and supported the event, either by way of donations or by just being there and spending their money on the various stalls, tombola and raffle.


Coffee Morning for Volunteers and Helpers - Wednesday 14 October 2009

The Coffee Morning went well with over 30 people attending who enjoyed the lovely selection of cakes on offer.  Barry Sanderson gave a speech letting everyone know what the Friends are intending to do with the donations given for the benefit of the Hospital.  He explained that is had taken a long time to arrange for the proposed alterations to the Hospital with hours of work behind the scenes to get to this stage.  The event ended with a draw for the table decorations and for 2 bottles of sherry which had been kindly donated.


Christmas Coffee Morning - Saturday 5 December 2009

It was a mild and dry day (for once!) on Saturday and even though there were a lot of other events taking place, the annual Christmas Coffee Morning was well attended.  The Committee are grateful to all those who came and spent their money as well as all those who helped in one way or another, and those who gave donations.  There are still some expenses to be met but the total is likely to be well over £500.00, which is an execellent result.

A date for your diaries!  Admission £2 including tea/coffee & cake - children free.  Stalls to include raffle, tombola, plants.  Everyone welcome - look forward to seeing you all there from 2pm!
