FOSMH funding support has recently enabled Easingwold Community Cricket Club (ECCCC) to create an all-weather pitch. The project was completed in June 2023, with the installation of 2 hybrid wickets. The introduction of hybrid wickets has been a catalyst for success at all levels. Having the hybrid wickets enables the club to host more cricket and has been instrumental in the success of junior cricket over the last year. The club is really feeling the benefit and the engagement from youngsters wanting to play is at an all-time high.
Phillip Bell, Honorary Secretary at the club thanked FOSMH and said:
“We are extremely grateful to the Friends of St Monica’s Hospital. The aims to encourage sporting participation and health and wellbeing are clearly evident to us, the local community is benefitting, and we will continue to grow this sport at all ages because the infrastructure is now established.”
