A grant from Friends of St Monica’s Hospital is going to play a big role in the lives of Crayke Primary School children. The school’s new running track has been given funding from FOSMH and “will make a significant difference to the physical and mental well-being of our whole community” according to Headteacher Judi Jackson and Chair of Governors, Hugh Porter.
Pupils too have said thanks in a letter to FOSMH and it’s hoped the track will be officially opened later this year. FOSMH Grants Committee Chair, Ian Jackson, responded by saying:
“This is exactly what our grants can do – make possible a project that needed funding and with the result that local health can be enhanced. It’s especially pleasing that children will benefit and hopefully be set on the path, or rather track, to a healthy lifestyle. The aspirations and drive of the school, alongside our grant and other fundraising , will help the village for many years.”
