A grant from the Friends of St Monica’s Hospital (FOSMH) made possible the purchase of a replacement roller for Stillington Cricket Club and it was put through its pace(s) this week.
As FOSMH continues its work in supporting health and wellbeing across the Easingwold area, one of its key criteria for awarding a grant is how a project can improve inclusivity.
“The cricket club showed that there would be a real benefit to the opportunities for youngsters and women for getting involved in the game. Reliable equipment for ground maintenance underpinned the programme of extending the health benefits of cricket to groups that otherwise often get overlooked” – Peter Berry (FOSMH Trustee)
The roller is now proving essential in getting the facilities ready for the start of the new season.
