St Monica’s Hospital Award October 2016

At the recent York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust’s Celebration of Achievement Awards the Team at our hospital was given a Governor’s Award by Lead Governor Margaret Jackson.   The citation states : ” St Monica’s is a small community hospital at Easingwold.  It has 12 beds, a palliative care facility and a physiotherapy department.  There is a team approach to care and staff work together for the benefit of the residents, as well as supporting each other.  The hospital is well supported by the Friends of St Monica’s and the local community, with volunteers being evident as part of the team.  Staff embrace change and work well with the Friends and local community to develop services and facilities.  At St Monica’s there is a calm, relaxed atmosphere which patients enjoy.  Patients feel well cared for, treated with respect and dignity.  Patients highly praise the hospital and staff. “
