York Hospital Radio Meets… David Kenworthy – Former Chief Constable & Deputy Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire

13th May 2025

The Friends of St Monica’s Hospital (FOSMH) in the person of Chair David Kenworthy have entered the world of podcasts! David is the subject of a new podcast from York Hospital Radio.

In late 2024, York Hospital Radio launched a new series of podcasts called YHR Meets, where you can hear interviews with a wide range of guests from many industries. The latest edition features interviewer Steve Eccles talking to David about FOSMH and the hospital itself, as well as his roles as former North Yorkshire Chief Constable and as a Deputy Lord Lieutenant of the county.

York Hospital Radio trustee and PRO Steve said:

“He has plenty to say on all three subjects, and it’s a fascinating chat. It’s a great addition to other YHR Meets podcasts with David “Bumble” Lloyd, Shed Seven’s Rick Witter, and panto legend Martin Barrass. I thoroughly enjoyed my chat with David, and I learned a great deal about St Monica’s Hospital in particular. He has some fascinating memories of his time with North Yorkshire Police as well, and all in all, we covered a lot of ground in a very entertaining way.”

Peter Berry from FOSMH added:

“It was a great opportunity to spread awareness and understanding about St Monica’s and what the Friends do. David is an excellent listen, and the podcast well worth connecting to.”
