Trustees Wanted

7th September 2025

Could you make a difference?

St Monica’s Hospital has been an integral part of community life for Easingwold and the surrounding villages since 1893. The trustees of the Friends of St Monica’s (FOSMH) intend that should continue and are now seeking applications to fill two vacancies for trustees.

In the last few years, FOSMH has broadened its remit from only funding ‘extras’ for the hospital to making grants within the local community to improve health and welfare. The grants have made a significant difference to the lives of many and while grant-making will continue, there is now an opportunity to focus on improvements to the hospital. Could you help make a difference for patients and staff at the hospital while contributing to the better health of the community in general?

The role of a trustee

The role of trustee is not onerous but it carries enormous responsibility for the proper running of the charity, particularly ensuring that funds are used properly. Previous experience of trusteeship is not essential as induction will be given together with any necessary training. We are looking for enthusiasm, fresh thinking and the ability to rise to the challenges of helping the health service.

For further information and an informal chat, contact David Kenworthy on 07710 439771 or Jane Wintermeyer on 07708 264640 or browse our website to learn more about us.

How to apply

Applications should include a brief CV (preferably one page) and a statement setting out why you wish to become a trustee. Applications should be sent to David Kenworthy at [email protected] by the 19th September 2025.
